Tom achieves Shodan

TomSunday 17th November 2013

Today was a technical seminar at Hawarden Dojo. The technical committee put everyone through their paces practicing all aspects of Shotokan Karate.

This was a hard physical session which was welcomed by all.

Following the session was a dan grading (black belt) for senior members. Tom Heggie was successful in obtaining his shodan (1st dan) making him the most recent senior shodan at the CSKA to obtain this grade. The grading panel was Shihan Ian Smith (6th Dan), Sensei John Barker (5th Dan), Sensei Roy Lawson (5th Dan).

Tom has been aiming for this achievement for sometime. He has battled with other commitments whilst trying to achieve his goal. Finally, yesterday, he made it!!

All of the instructors at the CSKA would like to congratulate Tom on his success and wish him luck with his future progress.

Well Done!! Now the real training starts 🙂 ………….
